What are your thoughts on S.O.S. Hi Folks: I am really going to give this a gung ho try and I found this site - Secular Organisations for Sobriety, in my search for help to become sober. I like its principals and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on this approach. Thanks |
Great!! Hope you willl find answers that woek for you. :) AA is my program however it is certainly not the only way. |
Good stuff! Try LifeRing Secular Recovery www.unhooked.com also, same philosophy and principles, but a bit more resources available. Email lists, forums, daily online meetings, etc. Paul J |
Hi Carol: I know that AA works, the only thing is with AA is that the meetings are only on Friday nights at 8:00pm and they are 30 minutes away. I live in a very small town, I plan on going this Friday night, but I need something until then. I have been unsuccessful on doing this alone and my family, which are wonderful, are unfortunately no help to me right now. This is my battle, not theirs. Thanks for listening. |
I'm not familiar with S.O.S. but I look forward to you sharing your experiance with it. |
Thanks Doorknob, on my way to that site right now. |
Hi, goneriding, I've had great feedback on SOS. Lifering, which is similar to SOS, has online chat meetings available. Here's the link to their schedule: http://www.unhooked.com/chat/index.html SOS probably has online meetings, too, but I don't happen to have a link to their site here. I'll try to post one later. SMART Recovery also has a schedule of online meetings: http://www.smartrecovery.org/onlinemeetings.htm |
