checking in to be accountable I feel a bit silly doing this... but want to mark my progress so I can look back at it later. I think I'm out of my danger zone today. I made dinner (with a half a bottle of wine sitting on the counter from last night). I drank 2 giant glasses of milk with dinner, and now I'm full, and the thought of mixing wine and milk is kinda gross. :eat I think I'm ok for tonight. Have done 1 day before without much trouble. I don't want to count my chickens on the first 24 hours.. but I think a real achievement for me will be 1 week. I haven't gone alcohol-free for a week since before I went to college (18 years - holy crap). I'm going to the grocery store in a bit. This is noteworthy because I can drive to do so. Usually, I've had too much to drink by this time to go out and do anything. thx! |
Well done tenK. You have every right to be proud of yourself. 1 Day is no mean feat with this cunning, baffling and powerful drug. Come back tomorrow and tell us it's day 2. Rich |
Hi tenK. and welcome! Nothing silly about accountability! Quite the contrary. If checking in here is going to help you in the crucial first days of sobriety, all the more a reason to log on. It's all about support. At least it was for me when I came to recovery. And gradually, I started noticing what it was I was really doing. Being accountable to myself. It's a beautiful thing! Glad you're here. |
Hi Ten, Being accountable is really important and one of the best things I've learned about being sober is being accountable to myself. Keep us posted and you're doing great! Anna |
Hi TenK. Doing what you need to do to stay sober - Nothing to feel silly about. Think back to some of the crazy things we can do drunk - now there's somthing to feel silly about. Keep posting the progress! |
