Bim I’d not heard of tchotchkes. New one on me.
It's yiddish Mags.
I love that it is part of bim's vernacular.

And ON 💛

Stay warm Chloe!

So I traded in my grumpy pants for a pair of Godsmack pajama pants....I've been wanting them for a while, but not wanting to spend the $...then the other day they had a 30% off everything for Sully's birthday so I splurged....I got them & they are so comfortable, I just hurried and did some laundry so I can wash them and wear them again today

Our receptionist at work is a tchotchke, decorative but not very functional.

Glad you like the pyjamas Purps.

Thanks bim. I don't think I'd be too keen on receiving loads of ornamental penguins either.

On the bus, recliner not needed today.

Reminds me of an interior view of a home on a real estate advert I saw.

The house had clearly belonged to an elderly lady (nice lace doilies, cabinets of fine china and crystal, pretty rugs and pictures) and the living- and dining-room walls were covered with twenty or more huge dragonflies in bright red or green enamel, wrought iron, copper etc.

I imagined it had started with one, a present perhaps, and then the family had said "grandma liked that dragonfly we gave her, let's get her another" and then it became "grandma collects dragonflies" and so it went.

I can’t stop laughing, Sao. Too funny. 😂

********

I would have spelled them chotchkies, too, Bim.

While maybe not true tchotchkes 🤷🏻‍♀️, I loved wind chimes and, when friends and family found out, I eventually had about twenty. Luckily, we had a nice screened porch where we hung the. In a soft breeze, the sound was varied and lovely. During a windy storm, though, they rivaled the thunder. My grandson when very small, he loved them. He would take me by the hand, take me to the porch, point at the wind chimes from inside the house and ask “Now, Elleigh”. We would make such a racket and his squeals of joy would blend right in.

On the beautiful Sober Bus.

Love to all.

I had to look for the definition of "vernacular"
First time I ever see this word even translated in French.
Good to know I can use it on Scrabble.

Funny story Caramel
That reminds me Dragonfly is the most valuable LP I have in my collection (+/- 400$)
Heavy psychedelia from 1968.

Curious to hear?

Interesting CK. A cult band - no members names on the album.

On the Soberbus

Thanks for the explanation Bim, penguin ornaments are so cute, just like our Saou!
Thanks Suze!
Caramel, I get cat ornaments…..crazy cat lady.

Leigh I love wind chimes, other half doesn’t though. I have one just inside my front door.

Koala, good investment!

When I was a kid I had a hand muffler, it hung round my neck and had a circular small furry thing to put your hands in, keep ‘em warm. Don’t know what made me think of that!

Oh, lord. When I had cats people were always giving me cat things. NO no. The worst was a kitschy fake embroidered patchwork quilt with huge cats on it (with matching pillow shams.) It was from my best friend on Christmas so I had to act like it was awesome. Yeah. Never used it, took it to the thrift shop. *sigh* To her credit, that friend bought some really good gifts but she also tried to fill up my house with cat and penguin kitsch.

On the bus.

Mags, when I first read your post I did not read the hand part just the muffler part so I thought of a car muffler..and was wondering why on earth you would have a car part around your neck and that would be darn heavy. LOL. I guess I would not be a good speed reader. LOL

Dragon fly, also known as the legend?
https://www.discogs.com/artist/1429097-The-Legend-5

We are currently in an extreme cold warning. -30c before the windchill. I've had enough of the cold. Bought seed starter and potting soil yesterday. Anxious to try starting some celery seed. Did I tell you my dad is also an awesome green thumb? practically a plant whisper. This will be my third season gardening.

On the bus!

ON ❤️

With freshly grown alfalfa that I do every week now. By next winter, I am betting I will be doing all my own microgreens.
And I love celery Dragon.
