Being sober long enough. so i can meet a nice women. i'm a long bit from that. but i want her to know about my past. am i domed? what do you think?

You're not doomed. None of us are perfect. We all have a past that includes things we don't like. I also think you don't have to tell someone all the gruesome details of why you don't drink. You can just say you stopped drinking for your health or some such. It won't be a lie! We are much healthier when we don't ingest poison.

I think you need to focus on yourself and your recovery right now tho.

Give yourself a chance to know who sober you is before you offer that to someone else :)

I just had to work at staying sober more than I worked at staying drunk..y'know?

absolutely. thank you all for the kind words, i do think i have to tell her sometime. hopefully she will understand. but as dee said.gotta fix this first. i'm so glad to be here. :)

Vik - I once thought I was doomed. I'd made a huge mess of my life & figured no one would want anything to do with the fallout from it. I was wrong! :)
