Update of Sorts
Well I had a crappy night. Felt hot and uncomfortable and had trouble sleeping. Felt sick but wasn't (although kinda wish I was cause I've noticed that quite often if I've been sick I feel better after).
Just feel really ill and achy. Due to go to the Parentals tomoro and not looking forward to that. The way I feel rn I can never see me feeling 'normal' any time soon.

I would say, remember this Jase
That bottle of gin...did it fix anything?
You'll recover from your little fall into the bottle. It's just going to take time. Every time you go back to drinking you have this to look forward to.
May as well just get off the merry-go-round for good, eh?

Sorry you aren't feeling well Jase. As others have mentioned if you feel it's some kind of illness coming on do see a doctor. If it's hangover related, it will get better - but it takes time. As addicts we seek instant gratification, but our bodies simply don't work that way when it comes to healing.

Hey Guys
Beginning to feel a bit better thank goodness. Had a proper meal and took some pain killers (co-Codamol with caffeine is awesome imo). It's amazing the amount of abuse your body can take and recover from. Of course the best thing is not to put your body through it in the first place but it seems I still haven't quite learnt that lesson properly.

There’s a opiates forum here full of people who’ll tell you codeine isn’t awesome Jase.
You’re at a vulnerable point right now - make good decisions for yourself and your recovery.
I’m sorry you drank - but don’t compound that with more mistakes.
Build a better plan, man.

I may be wrong Jase but you seem to go downhill every time you are going to see your parents? Do you think this is a trigger for you? Could you plan something different so that you don't have to feel so stressed by seeing them? Anyway sorry things have been rough for you. The body is good at recovering from abuse, you're right about that, until of course it isn't - and you don't want to push it that far.
I didn’t know that co-codamol contained codeine (by its name, I should have suspected); that is probably something that anyone with addictive behaviors should avoid, Jase, as there is the risk of trading one addiction for another.

Why everyone jumping on the guy.
yes codeine might be bad jase but might not affect you the way alcohol does.
if you need medication take it up with your doctor.
some people forget that caffeine is a drug also , but forget to lecture you on that.
hope you are well and can get what you need. It’s a good forum here and there’s lots of help.

I was pointing out the dangers of using something addictive to get over a bender.
If it worked once for me I probably would have said 'awesome' as well and done it again, and again...
Theres forums full of people here whos problems with opiates started with one pill.
I'm very wary of suggesting something might not be as bad as something else.
None of us know that.
