Cool thing about the owl Leigh!
So today we are welcoming back half our staff. (The other half next week). Some stores have removed their social distancing markers. I think it's all still to early.

Glad to be on the Sober Bus this morning.
I heard a rumor it might be a little cooler today. I hope so. This heat and smoke leaves one feeling rather drained. My back is acting up. I have an appt next week and I think I have my ablation for my back, I hope. It takes almost a month for it to really kick in, but I hope I get some relief.
Love to those getting flooded by too much rain.
Have a wonderful day on the sober bus!

Welcome aboard Jase - I stopped and started more times than I can ever remember and I expect few people on these threads quit first time of asking. The Sober Bus and SR generally is more important for those wanting to quit than those who have significant Sober time (imo) If you relapsed then just analyse what it was that led you to picking up and work out a plan for next time. You can do it.
Thanks for the new thread Dragon!

I feel like a fraud and that's not even my worst feeling rn. But I appreciate you all. Doctors and others are (generally) lovely and try their best but I feel most of the time don't 'get it'.
Can I sit on the back seat (alone) as I work through this and then join the main happy huddle?

Come on Jase, we're not going without you! And I had a lot of stops and starts too. You are always welcome on the Sober Bus. You can do this, I agree. It's hard, but it seems things worthwhile usually are. It gets easier.
Glad to see you back.

Glad to see you back.

You don't have to sit alone, Jase. We are with you, arm in arm.
Maybe take some time to think about what that call represented to you that would cause you to feel overwhelmed and feel like gin was needed.
(and I don't mean you have to type it out here unless you want to, but definitely examine the backstory)
Did you feel like the other person had some control over you? (Whether they actually do or you just think they do...it's a thing.)
Do you care (maybe too much) about their approval?
Do you have secrets you've kept in regards to that person or situation?
I find most of my problems are about pride and/or fear. I'm not saying yours are, but that's the bottom line for me.
Stay with us.

We'll stop the bus for you Jase! Jump on! You can have a fresh start this very moment! I've been on SR off and on since about 2009 and I definitely haven't been sober the whole time. It's been a work in progress. I feel reasonably confident in my sobriety these days. Start again now! Right this moment. We're here for you no matter what! The AV tells us lots of lies and does its best to keep us separate from others. Taking part in community, even online, is a strong line of defence against the AV.
I am on the bus!

Hey Guys
Thank you all so much. Reading your kind words really encourages me. It's 2:20am and I just woke up. Tbh I feel hot, uncomfortable and ... Sad. The good news is the bottle of gin is empty and I'm going to try again. Until Sunday I had been sober since 1st June so I know I *can* do it.
To anyone thinking of drinking.. Just don't. Let me messing up be a lesson for you. It's not worth it. Trust me.
