Please Stay on the Sober Bus Part 49
I found a guided meditation center not far from where I live.....signed up for a class this morning! Looking forward to it, as long as it doesn't turn out to be some crazy church I'll let you guys know how it goes
Purps. I've gone to a few "crazy" churches/meditation centers, New Agey spiritual places. I know what you mean.
I hope all my bus pals have a lovely stress free Sunday free from the bondage of alcohol, drugs, porn, poker, food binges, whatever your issue might be.

Super Duper productive Saturday! I'm so happy with myself. I got soo much done!
Besides reorganizing my storage shed, finishing some minor repairs, doing some shopping and getting a few things done at work I also....
Prepared two 6 foot tree limbs and put them in storage to dry out. I trimmed off all the little branches and sealed the ends and wounds. (We had our Baswood/Linden tree pruned and I asked the guys to save me two big limbs). Next year or two, I hope to cut some small boards out of them.
I mounted my new ShopFox air cleaner in the garage for when I work with doors closed this winter. It was a feat of engineering I tell you. After finding the joists and mounting brackets to the ceiling, I hoisted the thing up with straps while aligning it to the bolts already in the brackets.
When I was shopping I found a deal on these shiny things.
I won't be running out of drill bits for a long while.
This small purchase made me feel proud of my sobriety. It occurred to me (as it often does) that if I were still drinking, I would not have made the decision to investing in this hardware. Drink would've easily won out because I could not afford both. My whole passion for and collection of shop toys would've never been possible.
And to top things off, all while I'm feeling proud of myself, dear daughter calls asking if I can pick her up and also drive her friends home. Well of course I can!
Kick'n it sober on the sober bus and lov'n every minute!
Whishing a wonderful Sunday to all.
That is wonderful, Dragon.
Being able to pick up your daughter and her friends because you CAN do it. You are sober. Just wonderful.
I didnt sleep as much as I would like but I am up. Sober. Ready to tackle another day. Make it a good one everybody.

On the bus for a sober Sunday.
Fantastic post STDragon, it vividly highlights all the things we miss out on when drunk or hungover. I think you have all the sizes covered there.
Good luck with the meditation Purps! You too Chloe.

Thanks guys! I enjoyed it....not too religious so far; it helped with the anxiety....they have a pretty garden you can walk through....very casual dress code (remove shoes before going into the meditation room) and a cool gift shop! I bought a wellness candle....planning to go back
On the bus!
I try to start and end my day with at least ten minutes of meditation each day. It has really improved my outlook on things. Glad it was a positive experience Purps.
A very productive weekend Dragon.
Sao, I saw King Crimson last week. I can imagine you listening to them in your younger days. Robert Fripp can still paint some intense soundscapes with his guitar.
On the early work sober bus, coffee in hand.
Happy riding all!
