The deep pleasure I experienced from alcohol intoxication was always the biggest pro. I was willing to pay any price measured in mind, body and soul to continue the deep deep pleasure of that experience, up to the point of one day deciding I would never experience that specific pleasure again.
Since then , all consequences of living oriented on the pursuit of that pleasure are permanently arrested. All it took was promising myself I’d never allow myself the sublime pleasure of the buzz and the pursuit of oblivion.
If I were to make a pros and cons of breaking my abstinence pledge , the biggest pro would be the pleasure I’d experience from consumption. Simultaneously it would be the biggest con (pun not intended but applicable ).
