3 years today alcohol free...
Congatulations..!!!!
For a long time all I could do was suit up and
show up to my AA recovery meetings. Allowing
others to see me on a daily and frequent bases
was enough to let them see that I was sober
at least.
Before long i began to bring cookies to go along
with the coffee they served us at each meeting
which became my service work, Contributing a
little something to the meetings.
Then, i began to read at the opening of those
meetings, maybe beginning the Lord's Prayer
at closing which eventually led me to chairing
or sharing my esh - experiences, strengths and
hopes on the meetings topic.
It didnt happen all at once, but with willingness,
keeping and open mind and honesty in my heart
and mind, i began to speak.
We all move at a different pace in recovery and
life which i had to learn because it's not a race.
