I've been listening to my favorite Christian podcast and one of the recent topics was, "American Jesus," and the whole idea that Westerners have created this fair-haired, blue eyed, statuesque, flowing locks, athletic, beautiful Western-looking Jesus. They were saying Jesus was described in the Bible as a small Jewish man and he was in the Middle East so American Jesus is obviously all kinds of wrong. So I was looking for a darker skinned manger scene and scrolled through quite a few. I actually clicked on it to see their skin and saw the baby was missing then spotted the New York Times caption which made me smile...the NYT does some clever clickbait title-writing and I had to laugh at, "Bolts, cameras, and tethers." Poor kid, always in bondage.

Bussing it!
Officially out of one of the longest quarantines I have ever heard of. I get to resume my life tomorrow!
I would like to THANK YOU ALL for helping to get through this. I really could not have done this mentally/ emotionally without SR by my side.

Good Morning. Survived xmas with family. The kids were crazy with excitement. This was my 5th sober xmas. It's so nice to wake up hangover free. Sipping my 2nd coffee now and think I'll go for a walk later today. I hope everyone is well.

On the bus.

My eggnog latte now has fresh whipped cream on top. That's pretty yummy.

I feel like I've been in quarantine for 10 months. Oh, that's right. I pretty much have been.

"Celebrated" sober Christmas number number six yesterday. It is funny to see my FB Memories of Christmas' past always with pictures of beer that I received each holiday. Glad those days are past. Yesterday was a rare Christmas that I didn't have drinking thoughts. It's normally one of those days where I miss the idea of having a drink.

In the spirit of 2020, my store lost power half the day Christmas, so we spent yesterday throwing out all of the perishable food. This year continues to amaze.

On the bus, coffee in hand.

Happy riding all!

On for another sober ride ~ better stock up for New Year's Eve....other than coffee of course....What's everyone's go-to "mocktail"? I usually get some chocolate milk, but I may try something different this year as well

On the bus.

Purps, I usually buy one bottle of Martinelli's sparkling cranberry and cider for celebratory things. I haven't even done that this year. The one trip per week store thing is making it a bit challenging to think of things that aren't on my list. Thanks, I'll try to remember to put it on my list!

Christmas was stress free this year, with the code red quarantine and no visitors from outside the household allowed. We did some social distance visiting with the parents by standing outside the window while on the phone.

I have this week off, so today I'm transforming the garage back into a workshop for the next 7 days.

Love that song. When I was a kid, my best friend and I sang that song at a school function - in perfect harmony of course!

Mary needed a face coach...so serious!
