3 years alcohol free
Feeling super grateful to say I'm now 3 years alcohol free on the 11th of Nov. Its not always been easy, but it's 100 percent been worth every hard day iv had. Quitting at the age of 26 was rough, well at the time it felt like the end of the world but now I see it totally wasn't, it was just the beginning, being free from the chains of alcohol and the chaos it brings.
My sister came over on the 11th and I mentioned to her that it was 3 years since I'd given up alcohol, she had to help me quite abit in the days I was still drinking & I do feel bad for all I put on her. I don't know why but I asked her, 'where do you think I would be if I was still drinking today' to much shock she bluntly replied 'dead, so don't ever look back,' well I could have fell off my seat with that reply but what was I expecting her to say I guess I didn't see my alcoholism as being 'that bad' but it's sneaky that way.
So yeah grateful, healthy & excited for the future, I have a 1 year old son now & I love being a mother & I can't wait to see what adventures are ahead of us.
