Holy moly, those cats are close. Is it just that chain link fence between you? Yikes. I love the big cats at the zoo, but I don't want to be too close. They're beautiful.

Glad you guys like the pics ~ actually there's double fencing between us and the kitties; sometimes hard to get a good angle with the camera

Wow, it's been nearly a whole week since I was here. Just like Least - I'm always on the sober bus. And like Purps, I'm having lots of sober fun and enjoying life. Virtual Ukulele class starts next week! (I just gotta make sure I send my my money in, don't want to miss that bus.)

I'm so very close to finishing off my summer project of replacing the back door overhang. I tore out the old flat roof style one, repaired some water damage, and built a new one with a triple sloping roof. Man do I hate putting vinyl siding back up. Our house is covered in it and I had to remove quite a bit of it to do this job.

I'll say the veggie garden was a success this year. Plenty of celery, carrots and peas were harvested. Even one purple cabbage that we had today with dinner. Plus four jars of home made cucumber relish. I produced more compost than harvest but lessons were learned and will be applied next year. This coming weekend the garden will be tilled under and then we start plans for Halloween!! (I do hope we get kids out).

Dragon, of course you'll post pics of the finished door roof thingy?

, all.

Love those big cats, Purps; beautiful creatures, especially their sharp and captivating eyes.

Dragon, sounds like you had good success with your garden. There is nothing quite like veggies fresh from your own garden. Look forward to seeing pics of your new overhang.

I have hurt my back; very painful; doing exercises prescribed by my doctor. Initially, the only time that I wasn’t in pain was while walking. I am now able to sit for short periods of time if my right leg is bent/folded firmly against my torso with my knee under my chin. Sleep is extremely difficult. Well, this too will pass.

On the bus. Have a very nice day, all.

Dear Leigh, sending prayers your way. Backs can be so painful. Feel better soon, lovely one.
Good to see you SG. Thinking of you and hoping all is well with you.
Always glad to be on the Sober Bus.
We have another heatwave and some beautiful parts of Marin and Sonoma Counties are burning. Hoping Oct brings some cooler temps.

Sending positive vibes your way Leigh, back pain is a curse.

I don't have a garden so no home grown veggies but I have made a new batch of pickled onions - Hackney Bombers!

Sending prayers your way, Aly. Those wildfires send shivers down my spine; I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to be so close to them.

Oooo, those pickled onions look delicious, Sao.

Sao, those pickled onions do look very good. I think I'd like almost anything pickled. ♥

Aly and Sao, have you tried Paisley Farms five-bean salad?
