86 months yesterday
Somehow I missed my monthly reminder to myself last month and I missed yesterday's milestone as well. I need to stay on track with these monthly reminders, not for anyone else really but they work for me to keep myself in check. Not much to report, no interest in drinking and that's amazing as I was a complete basket case with all kinds of alcohol related problems. No more of that since seven plus years. Very grateful for my new life.

I did a mental inventory. Very simple actaully. Once you are out of denial you need to ask yoursefl, Do I want to continue this nonsense or stop for good. Be honest with yourself. Do you want to contine on the road to: financial ruin, health going down the train, relationships going down the tube, legal problems and finally death. We will all die sometime but now I can at least say I had a reason to live besides being a slave to the bottle. If you want a better life or continue the misery, that's the question. Is it easy? By no means, Will you have bad days still? I guarantee it, But here's the payback. Any bad situation sober is a whole lot better than dealing with life's problems while drunk. Also, a natural outcome for most people is that when they quit drinking, they will find out that a lot of the problems they had will go away because they were a result of the addiction. Your mileage may vary. There's many ways to sobriet. This way worked for me. I also have to put the caveat in there that I was ready. If you want to drink more than being sober, then it's all in vain. Conroversial statements to some but I'm being honest.
