One step forward, two steps back
One step forward, two steps back
Really struggling folks. I had ten weeks sobriety earlier in the year. Now I can barely manage a day or two. My bipolar is off the charts. I started a three-day taper to avoid the sweats and nightmares. I beg thoughts and prayers.

Hi there,
My thoughts are ... Do you really want your sobriety? If not - well, there you have it.
But if you do - get through the rough patch - again - for the last time - and consider discussing your future with someone who might be helpful. There are plenty of folks out there trained to help in this area. You might consider giving one of them a chance.
Did you make an appointment to see a doctor about your Bipolar? That can't be ignored either.
Best.

you have my thoughts and prayers always.
you can do this, you can, but you have to believe it -- believe you can do and you are worth it.
my father was bipolar before there were so many treatment options and took lithium most of his life and also drank to self medicate. I am sure he was addicted to alcohol, but he had it under control most of the time. But when he went off the rails, it was way off because of his illness.
Dont do that to yourself or your family. Bipolar is no fun, but it is one of the most treatable mental illnesses, but alcohol is not the way to go my friend.

I think dealing with the bipolar, and dealing with the alcoholism is the way to go.
Each will help the other...unmedicated bipolar is not good for drinking, and drinking is no good for untreated bipolar.
You have the power to change - I hope you use it Notch
