OC, Im really glad to see how good you are doing. Something else I used to do a lot in the beginning of my recovery was to listen to recovery podcasts in the morning as a way of helping me set my intentions for the day. There are a lot of tools and techniques out there to try out and its good to see you are on a good path.

Good morning everyone. At work today, looking like it's going to be a very busy one, but wanted to check in. Made it through another day without a drink. It was a good day. Had a few more urges than I did Saturday, but managed to maintain. It's funny when you focus on something, how much you notice it everywhere. Kinda like when you buy a new car and you start seeing that car on the road everywhere. I see people drinking or alcohol everywhere. Tv shows, movies, commercials, just seems like everywhere I look there's booze or people drinking...It didn't trigger me necessarily, just noticing how it permeates seemingly everything in our lives...
Good tip on listening to the podcasts, I've actually been doing that already. I have about an hour and 20 minute drive to work, so I've been listening to RecoverElevator podcasts going to and from work. There's a lot of people with good experience on their show. I've also listened to another recovery podcast, cant remember the name though, but it's most about AA and audio of meetings.
Anyway, I have to get to it, it's going to be long day, but I'll be here.
Talk to you all later.

Hey OC, just catching up here and I agree that your posts are making me really happy. I have a family myself and have been much better with kids and wife. I also don't remember some events that I took pictures of. It is really a crappy way to live. We will keep rooting for you through your ups and downs just stay close and no matter what come back here and talk to us.
OC, here's the deal.
We adopted you. You are one of us, so you don't get to run away and hide anymore, k?
If you drank, well, no surprise there. That's what alcoholics do. Then some of us decide to NOT do that anymore.
C'mon back and talk to us.
No need for anger at yourself, embarrassment or shame or whatever. People stumble. Just get back up.
If you didn't drink, yay! Still come back. Be a force for good for someone else, one way or the other.

Yeah, what bim said.
In my vast and exhaustive experience trying to stop drinking and in my limited but promising experience of having stopped drinking, I've found that it's vitally important to be able to commune with people who understand. This place offers that. It offers a wealth of knowledge and compassion from people who've been just where you are.
If you dumped us out of realizing you're spontaneously cured, I guess that's something I'd caution against. I don't know anyone for whom quitting drinking solved all of their other issues - it just provided them with the ability to deal with those other things. If you are practicing radio silence because you don't want to face whatever it is you're facing this week, I'm certain it would do you a world of good to talk about it.
Come on back...
O
