Hello,

I've just been prescribed Clonidine for the anxiety I suffer as a result of my drinking. I've read the rule here about offering advice on meds, so I'm not asking for advice. But I would like to know of other's experiences on this medication. I picked it up the other day and haven't started taking it because I read that it's originally given to patients for high blood pressure. I understand that it might help with anxiety, but what if it doesn't? I'm not sure I want to find out the hard way that this medication won't work for me. The Dr. already told me that when I wake up in the morning to sit on the side of my bed for a minute before getting up because I might be dizzy.

It’s very mild. It makes me slightly drowsy. Does very little for anxiety compared to a Benzo but these days it’s commonly prescribed by docs.
