Dead man walking....

That's what addiction basically meant to me. So many times I was half a heartbeat away from death, on so many levels. Physically, emotionally, spiritually.

Just a random thought....

Notch, I think I commented on another thread of yours, but let me share with you the 2 things that helped me the most with my addiction. It was turning my life over to my Higher Power and becoming more loving towards people. When I began helping people, the feeling of having love towards them naturally developed. Maybe these 2 things can help you with your addiction.

The one good thing about alcohol addiction is your body can heal. Go day by day and shoot for 30 days. Its worth it.

I can definitely relate to the feeling of dead man walking because that sums me up at one point. I was dead emotionally, spiritually, and a missed heartbeat or two away from physically dead, like during a seizure, which I had. I was so dead inside, it still gives me shivers to this day.

The good news is that I could still walk. I summed up the courage to ask for help and reverse my direction. I began to walk, although it was more like a crawl, towards recovery. It has been worth every inch!
