7 years sobriety today
7 years sobriety today
Hi folks. I know it's been awhile since I've contribute to the group and I apologize for that. Life is moving at lighting speed and my sobriety is partly to blame for that. I'm able to enjoy life now and every minute of every day is precious to me. My higher power gave me a second chance to live 7 years ago today. All I had to do was ask and have faith that the plan he has for me is much better than the plan I had for myself. I was dead inside and out. King alcohol was wining and I was losing the battle known as alcoholism. After starting my journey into sobriety I came here and decided you folks knew more than I did on getting and staying sober. I took some advice and got busy. Sure my desire to drink had left me on day one but I knew enough about this disease that you can NEVER get complacent. I came here and posted a lot early on but have since resorted to daily prayer. I'm eternally grateful to the forum and those of you that are here helping me and others as well. I would like to think that I've helped a few of you along the way.
I wanted to say thank you and keep fighting the disease. If your new reading this and you think 7 years of sobriety is a lot I can assure you it's not. It's goes by so quickly and in reality we only get today. Take it one day at a time and never give in. It gets easier with each passing day. Life is so much better without alcohol.
Thank you everyone and I promise to return soon.

I remembered you well Heath. You and soberjeanie were there for me from day one. I depended on your support more than you'll ever know. I'm enterally grateful for the encouragement and support...still do!
