Back to day 1 guys. Nearly made it to 80 days but had an unpleasant exchange with a toxic person and it kinda pushed me over the edge. The drinking was horrendous though. Obliteration. Didn't eat. Not a single scrap of enjoyment in it. I'm thinking this will help me not go there again. I fended off lots of wobbles this year on that basis so feel confident I can make it stick. Now for the withdrawals...

It's funny isn't it. You said you didn't enjoy any of it, so we all ask question, why do we do it?
Brush yourself down, stand back on your feet. We go again.

That's pure addiction, isn't it Tynesider? But I learned some things in the last 80 days, particularly in the lead up to this relapse that will prove useful. Keeping my side of the street clean and ditching toxic people has been hugely helpful to me in achieving an even keel. I am never going to be able to control others or eliminate stressful situations from arising but my actions can reduce their frequency and power.
596 days.
Had a dream last night where I drank a 70cl bottle of vodka. Make matters worse, when I woke up, I had a headache and a sore throat and thought for a moment it was a hangover. Took me a good couple of minutes to realise it was just a dream.

I'm new to this forum but have been eyeing it for over a year.
I didn't drink last night, bought a bottle of wine tonight, opened the bottle and poured a glass, took a sip, then decided to spill the whole thing. First time I've ever done this. Considering I drank a sip of alcohol, I don't think today counts.
Tomorrow will officially be day 1, but really reading how many days you all have is inspiring! I've had many day 1's before, but I am ready for moving forward!

I'm going through a bad patch at the moment in my personal life. It will end, but I'm finding at hard at the moment.
I guess i'm craving my old crutch.
Time for the final day 1. You got this!
