Night One without Drinking
I've decided to give this another go and get sober, and tonight is my first night. Evening wasn't bad, but now feeling the insomnia at almost 1am. Unable to sleep, wide awake and when I lay down I just toss and turn.
To me, this is the worst part of the first week or two after giving up drinking. Nights are so sleepless.

Since I can't sleep, figured that's what I'd do so been just sitting at the computer drinking several cups of water. Work is gonna suck tomorrow, go in at 7:30 but at least there won't be a lot of people there. I'll be tired as heck.
Make Sobriety your no 1 objective in life and everything else seems to follow, just falls into place. It's like magic

Sobriety is the sine qua non for our lives, as those old Roman types mighta said. The absolutely indispensable part.
Since I can't sleep . . . Work is gonna suck tomorrow
It will still be better than having a massive hangover.
And you don't need to hide the fact that you didn't sleep well, unlike the behavior that caused the massive hangover which you would try to hide.

Zebra said just what I was thinking! Anything is better than me having to 'hide' what was really up. And I totally get the sleep and insomnia and so on part - it's been my main struggle in different ways, thru my journey to date. It does get better from where you are now, tho, I promise.
Take it one task and one chunk of time today. You can do this.

One thing I've decided to do is keep a journal basically detailing each day that I'm sober, and at the end of each day reflecting on the positives and then include goals for the following day. I'm hoping this keeps me on track, plus figured if I make it a year and doing this each day it would be fun to go back and see how I've progressed.
