Will have to go into work today. Feeling very anxious. Heart still racing

If you feel confident about your health you could try working it off. Go for a run, sweat have a shower. Eat something and walk to work. Breath into the anxiety. Keep breathing. Keep moving.

I don't want to take a day off. Done it too much. Feel like I'm hanging onto my job by a thread and I'd feel more anxious if I rang in sick! Trying to be positive thinking this is day 2 of my sober life!

It's going to get better soon, Fluffy. Day 2 is excellent progress. You'll never have to suffer through this anxiety & misery again.

Thank you so much for your replies. Work wasn't great, but I managed. Went swimming after work (used to be straight in the pub) which really helped calm me. I have now finished day 4 still sober. I went to an annual barbecue do on Saturday which I was dreading as loads of booze always and people drinking. I didn't feel an urge to drink. Maybe the sad news that 2 of my old drinking companions died last week (alcohol related) before there time helped with that. To be honest I actually enjoyed the event MORE and bonded better with people than previous years when I just drank myself to oblivion!

great going on day four, and way to go on finding something helpful and calming for yourself after work.
