600 days

Today I am 600 days booze free, never in a million years did i think i would even get this far. In the beginning more than 3 months seemed impossible. Glad I'm not in the loophole for now and going to keep working hard to keep it this way. :slider3:

Hi LPG,

Amazing stuff.

I've seen a couple of threads on how people felt at various points as they accumulated more sobriety. It's helpful to hear. I'd be curious to know of your timeline in terms of at what point cravings went, at what point you didn't even think about booze at all on certain days, did temptation return etc etc?

Cheers,
B

Hey,

It took a long time for me to even not be emotional about not drinking, the first year is hard. I had alot of self pity about having to give up. I went to therapy for alcoholism and that helped massively, helped change how I viewed alcohol. And I didn't do that until I was 8 months booze free. I still get cravings now, I still feel very early into soberity and still learning now.

I have took time to meditate, find new hobbies, find new friends, basically changed my whole life as it wasn't working in the beginning, I was still trying to fit into places that didn't suit my lifestyle anymore. And for myself on it I now view alcohol as poison for me, why would I want to drink something thats poisonious for me? I have to put that lable on it.

Iv been most comfortable with soberity the last 4 months, things are calmer and clearer. And I definitely do not want to drink now. I can say I don't think about it half as much, unless I'm around it too much. I'm pregnant atm, so I've had alot less time to think about it as I'm so focused on this new part of my life too.

How are things for you? LPG
