Taking all my stemware and drinking glasses to donation

Well, I cleaned the cabinets today and everthing is going out the door. The last of the party goods. The pitchers, the mugs, the champagne flutes, the cordials, the white wine, the red wine you get the picture. Sad in a way, a lot of great parties, but that is not me anymore.
I am the best me I have ever been, and I am so blesssed and grateful to be sober. Thank you all fo your support.

I took all the husbands liquor bottles, wine bottles, stemware, flasks, mixers, shot glasses, champagne flutes to the garage the first couple days I quit. Not without giving him an earful as well, as he was so angry at me from my last bender. He didn’t bat an eye. Some wine glasses have drifted back to the cabinet but I got stronger over time and cared less, I still don’t have that bar in my kitchen anymore, thank goodness. Congratulations on your sobriety.

That's great! It took me ten years to throw that stuff out.

Well as a strictly beer drinker all I had to remove is the beer and a glass mug I used to keep iced in the freezer so it would be frosty. I didn't even bother using the frosty mug for the last several years as my beers never lasted long enough to get warm. I also congratulate you HTown, I love to hear when someone has reached the point when they are grateful to be sober and not feel like it's just a necessity.

^ Ha, fini - we have a lot of coffee mugs and various travel cups now!!

And sassy, very cool! We don't have any of that stuff either. I think I do have one crystal glass of my grandmothers - I found it when my now husband and I were moving me out of my apt, and it had old dried dregs of red wine in it. I'd hidden it way at the back, ha. If I did keep it and find it one day, it will make me smile with gratitude.

Take care of you like you are doing!

This is a very smart move, H Town.

I have had to go to any lengths, also, to get and stay sober.

I do not need vestiges of my drinking days confronting me every time I open the cabinet.

For me, it was the beer t-***** and caps that I had to throw over the transom.
