This is one of the gifts sobriety can provide....

My wife and daughter are goin out of town with our neighbors for a girls week vacation.

My wife trusts me 100%.

That used to be one of my top 3 things that would trigger me. Being at home alone.

No more. ....As much as I love my family, this will be a fun little vaca.

I'm gonna do nothing for the entire week after monday.

I'm gonna go shootin with my best bud, eat some wings and then watch deadpool 2. Then sit in my own filth for the next few days taking naps and seeing how little i can get done .

I've got it all worked out so the only time i have to get up is to use the bathroom, walk the dog and answer the door for delivery.

I've got my laptop in case i need to use the net.

It's gonna be amazing.

PS after they get back, i'm gonna start my diet!!!

Trust is earned and I'm glad you've reached that point with your wife Bulldog - it took me a LONG time to get there. Enjoy the weekend and be safe!

Your plans sound awesome. .

I have a week off work too and while my plans are different than yours...I'm actually using the time to give myself a bit of a kick in the ass...what is the same is the complete absence of planning to drink.

You've reminded me what a blessing it is to know heart and soul that there is no drinking, instead of the dark planning and anguished negotiation with alcohol that used to take place. It's simply gone.

Thank heaven for sobriety.

Bulldog: livin' the dream! Your post made me laugh; I have very similar "goals" during my time off. "So how was your weekend?" "Aw, it was great, I didn't do a damned thing!" Enjoy your sloth...

This is a great post BD - thank you for it.

Regaining that trust is something I'm enjoying and cannot wait until it is fully arrived at.

And the trust you also have apparent in the post is so crucial and valuable - the trust you have with your self. Gaining that, proving that to ourselves, over time, is such a gift as well.

ENJOY the weekend man.

Enjoy your mini-vacation dude. Sounds like it'll be relaxing. And good on you for having a plan.
