58 months tomorrow
Steadily marching towards five years. I am trying to write every month on here for my own good. I need something to hold me accountable. I am in better shape both health wise and mentally than I've been since my twenties and I'm now in my early fifties. I have problems and issues like everyone else but I have a whole new outlook on things. I changed my eating habits gradually after I got sober and also increased my physical activities. All this would not have been doable if I had continued my drinking. In fact I'm not sure I would have been alive. I was drinking daily, some days 12 beers. What a pitiful life I lived.
Congratulations tnman from a freshly sober friend in East TN! You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing how your health has improved since you quit drinking. I'm 44 and have been drinking (and other bad stuff) for nearly 3 decades now and I need to hear those things. I hope to follow the same path you're on.
tnman you are an inspiration and I look forward to the day I can have that many sober days in my resume. Don't get me wrong as I'm not in a hurry to get older however I am looking forward to longevity in my sobriety. It's such a worthy goal and we all have similar journeys just different miles covered.
