Don't get me wrong, people have been nice and made a fuss, and I'm grateful.

But my mood isn't great and a birthday without drinking is still weird to me. I didn't drink, though, and that is 114 days for me.

Hoping that by the next special occasion this will all feel a little more like normal.

I found that once I got through a calendar year (with all the celebrations, vacation, holidays!) I felt much better. Alcohol was part of everything I did - and at first, it did seem odd without it. I was resentful, even though drinking was killing me. It will get much easier. Today, drinking rarely crosses my mind - the thing I once lived for.

Happy Birthday Sherlock.

114 is dope. Very happy birthday.

I'm not the biggest fan of mine either, and it's 11 days away. Whereas for others the attention and celebration are fun, I find myself counting regrets etc. Well perhaps not in the future once I get some sobriety underneath me.

Wishing you the best and congrats on 114, that's really great.

Mine was absolute hell. Spent my birthday weekend in a bender and a blackout. I quit drinking for good that monday.

Mothers day is coming up. Champagne day, right? **** champagne!!!! Just wait on me hand and foot and feed me good things, that's enough.

I'm glad you're here. Here's to Life. One day at a time.

What's for dinner tonight?

Happy birthday
All my best birthdays have been sober ones.

sorry you didn't feel it this year. 114 day is great tho.

what are you doing for your recovery besides not drinking?

Probably not enough to be honest, something I might need to address.

I expect you have already heard this but the first full year of events sober is usually the trickiest, once all the "firsts" out of the way, it does get easier to relax into and enjoy.

Your wife sounds nice.
