When I stopped drinking, my wife and I agreed that if I made it to 100 days I could splash out on that £400 Apple Watch that I've always wanted but we could never afford (mainly due to the money I was spending on alcohol.

Today is day 97, so I can have my watch on Wednesday next week after 100 full days. It might sound stupid, but the thought of getting it has really helped to motivate me to stay sober, and I am genuinely excited to get it.

Then we can start discussion on how many days I have to do to get an iMac

I did some math not too long ago (that I kinda wish I didn't) and if my figures were anywhere near correct I could be retired at age 50 if I would have invested the money I've spent on alcohol. That was kinda like checking to see if you're lottery number came up when you didn't play only to find out they did feeling.

I'm sure you've paid for an Apple watch about 2 or 3x over at this point.

An Apple watch sounds like a good reward.

With 1000's of Apps in the App store, I bet you can find one that tracks sober time. You could put this on your Apple watch.

Hi all

The good news, my new watch is amazing, absolutely love it.

The bad news, had an awful day today, seems like the world is determined to send my way as much drama and as many idiots as possible.

The best news, despite one of the worst days I can remember, I didn’t drink, wasn’t even tempted. Treated myself to a glass of proper coke instead.

I’d say that’s progress.

My next treat I’d like to be an iMac but given the price of them I think I need to do something special to earn that. So that might need to be pushed back, thinking when I get to a year I’ll have done enough.

Going to think of a couple of things for 200 and 300 days though.

My wife’s happy too because I got her a lovely Trollbeads bracelet and charms that she’s had her eye on for a while, to say thank you for putting up with me. Not just for the last 100 days, but for the last 21 years!!
