Six months sober (had a couple of drinks recently and my reflections)
George,
Been there.
Not sure what brought you to SR, but I was losing my mind after 80 days clean. I have recovered to a better state, but I can tell there are even better things coming.
Regretfully, I have had some booze in my time clean but I am over it now.
I will not be tempted in anyway ever again.
Ime....opening the door to booze leads to a hell on earth again eventually.
Thanks.

Its very interesting your observations. I gave up smoking some 5 years ago and i think the last craving i had for a cigarette was well into the 2nd year of no smoking. I am not experiencing cravings for alcohol (3.5 months sober) but every once in a while my AV pops round and asks if I fancy a drink. I tell it to feck off I mean whats the point of one drink anyway? It would inevitably turn into two, then the bottle and a roaring hangover the next day. NOW that may not be the truth of the matter as you found. It may be that I dont like the drinking feeling anymore and i, like you, say "Im over it!". But you know what George? Ive sat down for dinner with the devil to many times to risk it and life is running like a dream right now. Its not worth the bother for me.
Im glad youve found your life. Stay happy. Xx
