Freebie.
Freebie.
"There's no such thing as a free dinner" is a quote attributed to, among others,Milton Friedman. Well there is you know, and its my new book tentatively titled Beyond AA---The Drink Game and How Not to Play It.
After contacting a few publishers, rejects, and a stint with Amazon's Kindle where the technology and requirements of mega self publishing got the better of me, I have decided to give it away. Who better than SR?
It's round 20,000 words, researched, in part autobiographical, and easy to read. It's not anti AA and readers of the Big Book will be aware that such, claims to be open to new insights.
Currently my plans are to write something else which I may or may not give away. I am not into vanity publishing with its exorbitant costs and at times shonky services. Been there, done that.
I am currently doing some revision and would be happy to provide the book in its entirety or in instalments. Of course this is up to SR, it may be against their policies. In any case they may have it if they want.

Hey Bubovski, it's so nice to see you (we don't seem to be posting in the same threads).
I'd love to read your book but you know, if you wanted to commercialize it you could set up your own website using wordpress, it's actually not that complicated
Anyway, congrats on your first book.

Sure, I'm not adverse to money, it's all the messing around I don't like.
Thanks for the tip anyway. If SR wants it I will need to know how to
transfer the chapters to a non publisher site. My technocratic skills aren't too crash hot, hence my fallout with Kindle.
Hi Bub
As we've said no to many other authors it wouldn't be fair to say yes to you.
I could see us being overrun by potential Hemingways if we did
Check out rule #1 here for a fuller explanation of whats allowed and what's not.

If interested parties want to read it and you're giving it away, probably approaching you by PM is best.
Good luck with it

Once something is out there free its ongoing monetary value becomes zilch.
People, in keeping with the cash nexus see value in much, and worth in nothing. That said, you and SR are running the show and may do so as you choose.
Thanks Carlotta; actually it's my second published book.

Rules and regulations do have their down side
Rocking the boat can always upset the sponsors too.
Looking elsewhere and will follow your tip.
So...I boo booed.
Not least of which by thinking this was in Newcomers (Sorry Scott!)
It really does violate rule one Bub so it's best if you disperse your freebie some other way.
Like Carlotta said you could easily start your own blog. It takes little to no expertise.
Again, best of luck with it.
I sent you a PM so any further discussion can be through that medium
