2 Years of Recovery

Hi all,

Just wanted to drop in and say that 2 years of recovery has yielded some amazing benefits in my life, namely a lot less depression and a lot more money in my bank account!

I'm not one for long, stirring speeches, so I'll make this brief. Don't "just quit" drinking alcohol. Find out what it is inside you that makes you want to hide in a bottle and work to conquer it. Mine is a combination of fear, depression and self-loathing that stems from a lifetime of abandonment, physical abuse and emotional terrorism. These things don't miraculously go away overnight, but facing them head on will make it a lot easier to cope in ways that don't involve self-poisoning. It's not as important as to HOW you choose to deal with these issues, as long as it's done in a positive, mindful way. AA, counseling, prayer, meditation...all good places to begin looking.

You can do this!

Onto my third year...
