Nice to meet you, Boots! Well... I try to post every day and nobody has seemed annoyed yet! Seems silly, but i find just posting my number every day helps

Congrats on your sober time and making a great decision. .

Good going, boots. Absolutely it's ok to log every day, every sober day counts!

Day 5. I am feeling so much better about things. Had a blip last night when something triggered me but I learned that it passed (probably within an hour) and I don't need to drink. I don't need to medicate a natural feeling that passes all on its own.

# better skin - the redness (blotchy patches not rosacea) have nearly gone
# jeans feel less tight (I must have been bloated from drink)
# more productive, have done more in a week than I have in a month
# feel energetic first thing in a morning
# better conversations, better intimacy with my spouse
# enjoying breakfast again
# £25 (at least) saved - I'm going to be rich beyond my wildest dreams
# trying new non alc drinks and yummy foods

What a *fantastic* forum - wish I had found it sooner!

Day 6 (can't quite believe it)

Had a very strong urge to drink last night even though nothing was wrong and I had had a pretty much perfect day. My AV was telling "you haven't drunk all week, you deserve just one".

Hubby went to the shop as he had seen a new range of 'mocktails', guzzled my way through the bottle and pretended it had pimms in it. Lol. I also find serving my drinks in a wine glass tricks my brain into thinking its getting something intoxicating. I never got the munchies when drinking, but now I am sober I want to eat confectionary all the time. A little worried about calories but I suppose that will be addressed later. I need to get through these early days best way possible. x
