drinking again

had a ****** breakup with my current "gf" if you could even call her that.

i just feel like a huge piece of **** and i don't know how to fix things.

stopped for a couple weeks, then was drinking in a "healthy" way for a couple weeks now back to the bottom.

i feel lost but don't want to tell anyone because i don't want them to view me as a liability.

i'm sorry.

Tell anyone? Here or in your real life?

There's no need to apologize to anyone unless you have hurt someone because of your drinking and I doubt that includes us.

What's done is done, you can stew in all those alcohol feelings (shame, guilt, self pity, etc) or you can shake it off and get sober, Sr or no SR, girlfriend or no girlfriend, etc. All that stuff exists outside your need to get sober.

Keep it simple and do day one again. That's it.

Goggle local AA meetings, they will be exactly what you are looking for.

Hi Notreal. I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm glad you wanted to post about it.

Any time I tried to drink in a 'healthy' way it failed. I wanted very much to be a social drinker, but it's impossible for some of us. Stopping all together was the only way for me to live my life without all the danger & drama. I hope you'll continue to post and give getting sober another try when you're ready.

Thats the booze talking, as is the 'people will think I'm a liability' line.

No one is against you here - this is at least one place where folks understand.

Sometimes we sink down so low we need help to get up again - don't let pride or fear stop you from finding the help you need.

I agree, heading to some AA meetings will help you talk about those feelings in person. It can really help.
Also checking in here daily is a great help.

Alcoholism has a way of beating us down. We've all experience it. Just stop drinking now and try it again. Sobriety is very obtainable. You just have to be willing.
Glad your here buddy, hi I'm Wayne.
