Mom just passed away
Mom just passed away
I haven't been posting much lately as she had terminal cancer and my sister and I were honoring her wishes to spend her final days at home instead of in a hospital. I'm so grateful that I am sober and was able to be there holding her hand at the end as well as make her final days more comfortable. There's no way I could have done that if I was still drinking.
Also my deepest gratitude goes out to Hospice and the great caregivers that helped us through this difficult time.

Very sorry for your loss Grungehead. I am absolutely positive your presence there was felt and made a difference to her, and being sober was important in making that happen. My best wishes to you and your family for healing and peace.
You have my sympathy. And my admiration for remaining sober. My mom's terminal illness and passing away put me on the skids. I regret not being clean and sober for my mother in those last days.
Sorry for your loss, Grunge. I went thru much the same with my Dad a few years ago. Allow yourself some time to grieve. Such experiences can strengthen our resolve to stay sober.

My condolences. One of the gifts of hospice, that family can carry with them all their lives the time and care they put in before death. It helps shift the grieving process in a healthier direction and I know it meant the world to your mom. Take care of yourself here for awhile, treat yourself gently.
My condolences Grunge in the loss of your mother. It is good you were able to be with her during her final days. Both of my parents had hospice, so I join you in the shout out of support. ((GRUNGE))
