Be Your Own Advocate
I just wanted to share an experience I had that may help some people. I have had an issue with anxiety since becoming sober about three years ago. If anything it has gradually gotten worse since becoming sober. It typically manifests itself as a volcanic outburst after it gets the better of me. After a myriad of tests from my doctor which all showed I do not have any medical issues I kept insisting something was not right. I was prescribed Lexapro and it is an absolute godsend.
I no longer have severe anxiety or moodiness. It is like night and day. Little issues no longer drive me crazy or consume my thoughts. This is not a recommendation for any medication nor medical advice. I am trying to stress the necessity of being your own advocate when it comes to your health as you are the only one who knows how you feel. God Bless!
