50

Wow today is day 50. That's a good number. :)
I have noticed more and more people around me that are drinking and having extreme life struggles due to the alcohol. Some will look me straight in the eye and admit they have a problem but aren't ready to quit. The strange part is I'm not one of those people that think alcohol is the devil so since my quitting I haven't talked to anyone about it except you guys. Am I just more aware or are people sensing I have a problem and are looking to me for sympathy?

Congrats on 50 days Ladybug, that is fantastic! I think we do start noticing drinking around us a little more after we quit - but it's normal for that to happen. I wouldn't read too much into what others say or do, you can control your choices but they must make their own regarding their abuse/use.

Congrats on 50 days ladybug :)
I noticed people drinking a lot more too - and I noticed a lot of people got really defensive about their own drinking when I simply mentioned I'd stopped drinking.

Congrats on 50 days!!! Those are the tough days the next 50 are much easier. I hope you have a plan for the tough days that will pop up now and then.

Congratulations on 50 days!

I'm coming up on 8 years sober and your post made me realize that I don't really see people around me drinking much.

Then I realized that I hang out with different people and go to different places than I used to. That probably explains it.

I totally relate to this. It's so weird to me. When certain people know that I'm sober and drink around me....they say the funniest things! Such as "I don't normally drink this much.." or "This is only my second drink..." etc. I just think to myself - hey, I have enough on my own plate...I'm not counting or noticing your drinking patterns!
