I hope you do as well. Staying around the SR community could help you in that progress too. I have learned a lot in my time here and found a tremendous amount of understanding/support.

Naltrexone is to be taken daily as a anti-craving medication which many have had good results with. The sinclair method does sound too good to be true, and it is. If you do drink on it, it blocks the "high", yet you will still experience all of the negative effects of alcohol which you found out.
The woman promoting it was never an alcoholic, just an occasional binge drinker, and has admitted it's unlikely to work for people with full blown alcoholism. Once you've crossed that line, the only option is complete sobriety.

biminiblue, when I say cravings I’m referring the desire to start drinking.. That may be what your calling the mental obsession.

I did some research on this medication today since they had me on it in rehab. This medication is associated with something called the Sinclair Method. I guess they prescribe it and you continue drinking but the effects of the alcohol aren’t the same so supposedly you stop drinking as much as usual... not happening here, no way am I touching alcohol to see if a fricking pill works.

There’s even a documentary about the medication and the method that goes with it. The documentary is called “one little pill”... Google it and you’ll find the video
