Sitting on Day 30 with my thoughts
There are people in your community you can talk to about this. Are you willing?
BTW, congrats on 30 days.
Yay, LadyBug!!! A whole new year and a whole new you....for me too.
The way I look at it, I spent years forming the strong pathways in my alcoholic Zombie brain parts. Every time I have a regressive thought, I look at it as an opportunity to chip away at those pathways by not reinforcing them. Zombie will always be there, but it needs to lay the heck down and wait for its acting debut in the Walking Dead series, lol.
Congrats on 30 days!

I'm very private in my addiction. When I have been approached to drink I say I can't because of 1. medication or 2. I'm trying to lose weight. I treasure SR because I can be honest about what I'm going thru and I get support and no judgement. I feel if I went public I would be judged.
I was private in mine, too. For me, keeping it private and trying "Ken's plan" kept me drunk.
Best thing I ever did was to get honest with my doctors what I was doing to myself. Then reach out for help from people who actually knew what would have success at getting me sober, rather than what Ken thought would. Ken's plan sucked & had no chance of success, so it failed.
You don't have to broadcast to the world you have a problem with alcohol. Not a good idea . . . But I do encourage you to find the right people to open up to about it, and get help from those who know what has a better chance of working and what doesn't.
