Don't think I will live through the night.

Long-time lurker first time post. It's too late though I waited too long to reach out. I've been through heavy withdrawals and DTS before and somehow managed to escape alive. Pretty sure it's not going to happen this time. I'm on death's door. I'm too stubborn way too much pride and it's going to cost me my life this time. Anybody that is still up at this hour good luck to you and know that you are in a better place than I am

It's never too late

Rob,

If you can drive GO TO THE ER!

If you can't drive CALL 911!

There's no reason to try to go through withdrawals without medical help. When I quit I was past the point of being able to quit without being medically detoxed so I get the desperation you're feeling. I was out of options because I knew that if I kept drinking it was going to kill me and if I quit cold turkey there was a good chance that might kill me too. So I swallowed my pride and reached out for help. I hope you can find the strength to do so as well.

Well, if you're in the States call 911 and tell them you're in need of a paramedic.

If you can't get medical help perhaps go to bed and get some rest.

Hopefully things will look a bit better tomorrow.

Rob,

It's good you posted. I get the pride thing; I'm too full of it.

Please get yourself to the ER. Tell them how hopeless you feel. They will help you. And you deserve it.

Rob, I hope you're heading to the ER. Please post when you can and let us know how you're doing.

BullDog777 01-17-2018 05:35 AM

Go to the emergency room or call 911. we don't quit drinking or try to get sober so we can die from withdrawal. that's counterproductive in every way.

it doesn't take a man to stand there and get your head beat in. it takes a man to know when to walk away. get help so you can save your own life.

it's only too late if you refuse to help yourself.

Hawkeye13 01-17-2018 05:49 AM

Please call 911---give yourself a chance to get better.
You deserve it

EliL 01-17-2018 07:41 AM

Hope you get through it and get some help.

ScottFromWI 01-17-2018 07:46 AM

Rob..hope you got some help and called 911

You won't die if you go to the hospital. You could if you stay home. What keeps you from getting help if you feel you won't make it? I felt pretty sure I'd be ok,but if my feelings changed on that I'd have gone in a heartbeat.

Please update us.

Thank you I made it through the night somehow. But I've got a long Hard Road Ahead I'm starting to think I can make it. Thanks to Obladi. She didn't have to put up with me in the middle of the night cutting into her sleep and work day, but she did. she helped me in more ways than I can ever express. I will continue to update my status if you guys are willing to listen.

Thank you for letting us know that you are OK Rob - and I'd still second my recommendation to speak with a medical professional. We are very much happy and willing to listen to you and you are welcome here, but we are not doctors nor should we be considered a substitute for proper medical advice.

DarklingSong 01-17-2018 11:57 AM

So glad to hear you got through the night. Please stay close to SR. I wouldn't have been able to quit without it.
Best wishes.

SoberLeigh 01-17-2018 12:15 PM
