I know there were periods of time, sometimes months at a time, where I could stop bringing home a bottle and binging out every week. But it was never with the intention to last, and never did.

For me to stay sober, I have to get back into the mainstream of life. I saw The Last Jedi three times since it released, twice on my own, once with an AA friend. For me, just simply smiling and saying a genuine, "hello" to someone in a grocery store and getting the same reply is enough to remind me I'm recovering.

It's far better than those days, that turned into weeks, where'd I sit at home alone and drink until oblivion.
