Last time I went to our DMV it was actually a very pleasant experience. The lines were short, the people were pleasant and I was in and out in probably 20 minutes.

That's awesome! Maybe they've changed things a bit!

Bahahahaha!

Just today my new husband printed out the SS app I need to take with other required docs, so I can change my name. On that card. THEN I get to go to the DMV....

Thanks for the reminder to take my recovery A game into all of it!

This is where the internet gets big props from me. While I haven't been able to totally avoid going to these places in person I have been able to do most of it online. I haven't had a ticket in ages, and the last time I set foot in a DMV was in 2006 when I moved from TN back to NC. SS is a different monster, but even with them I have been able to do a lot of the legwork online.

I feel sorry for (some of) the soc sec workers. They push a ton of paper and most of them are nice people working a thankless job. And yes, online is very handy, as is the phone.

I won't support Walmart.

You can do most DMV functions at your local AAA office if you're a member. If not, make an appointment.

I have to go in for my motorcycle license test...

I got one to test yourself, 6 hour plane delay, finally get on, get deiced and then told you Can't take off. All because it wasn't safe to land in one of the stop overs, they changed the fluggt plan and rebooked a bunch of people on to your flight. If they had just changed the plan we would have been out 4 hours earlier and I could sleep in my own bed.

The majority of the plane went to yell at the people working the airline counter, wanting vouchers for hotels. I booked a hotel and called a shuttle. Call the airline when I get home. No good getting angry and taking it out on a ticket sales person.

Im not sure if the employees just get that way over time from working there....or if the office just seeks out the rudest....no emotion on there faces...."hate their job" type people to work there. ............ "NEXT!!!"

Franz Kafka was correct in his assessment of bureaucracies.
