3 days sober

Hi everyone.
I have made the life changing decision to stop drinking for good. I really want to stick with this and know that the first few months may be hard.
I previously had stopped drinking for 9.5 years. I had gotten very depressed and needed to feel something to get me out of my depression and made the decision to start drinking again. After varying degrees of success and blips I'm now ready to go sober again. For good this time. I feel like an idiot for breaking my sobriety last time. It was something I was really proud of. I'm hoping I can do this

No need to be ashamed. We've all done things we're not proud of. The good thing is that you've realized drinking isn't the answer. It never is, right, but somehow we convince ourselves it will solve our problems.

Keep it up!

You can definitely do it. You've done it before, you'll do it again. You're not "an idiot", your human. 9 1/2 years is a long time. No wonder you forgot why drinking is a bad idea in every way. Now, though, you remember. You're sober now. That's ALL that matters. Congratulations! .
