16 days

This time around I ended up in the ER because my blood pressure was sky high! Also found out I have Afib. Irregular heartbeat. I'm on medication for the B/P and blood thinners for the Afib. Two cardiologist told me this was all brought on due to heavy drinking. I cannot drink at all because I can have a stroke or bleed internally from taking blood thinner meds (Xarelto). So far I've been ok with that! I also need to stop smoking. I'm down to around 4 a day! I'm chugging along!

It’s a good thing you were pushed into sobriety at this time before you ended up with a fatal cardiac event. Sadly some people do return to drinking despite serious drinking related health consequences. Congratulations on 16 days, hope you are beginning to feel better!

Thanks! Still foggy upstairs! I'll probably be like this for months. I feel so much when I get up. I've had a hangover for about 4 years straight, everyday! This is my 4th shot at sobriety. I know what it's like to have clean time, but this time it's for real! I can't screw it up this time! I'll end up in the Morgue and I don't like cold places!

Well done on 16 days bizzybees😀 I’m on day 99. I’ve found the daily support threads pretty helpful. Maybe give the December one a try. Good luck.

Sounds like you hit bottom. Physically it's a must to stop now. I think for a lot of us we take it that far. So stay sober now. Develop a plan and work it. Alcoholism does not go away on its own. You have to be proactive.
Congrats on 17 days now. Your doing fine.
