My Whispering-slimy-slitherer Yes, that's what I call him. My AV. Three days today, and I had a near slip while I worked at a Tavern that has one of my pool tables. I drove away thinking: "Just a couple of ice cold Heinies, man... Take it easy and you'll feel no worse tomorrow than you do now. And tomorrow is a new day... What's a couple of days difference going to make?" Don't know how, but after a few minutes the whispering went away. And I'm grateful. Thanks to all my SR friends for your support. Again.:You_Rock_ |
Whatever you call him, what's most important is that you don't listen. It's significant that you realize that you have a choice in the matter, keep reinforcing that by spending time here and anywhere else you can. |
:c011: WAY TO GO!!!!! Props to you today. Even going to a restaurant that serves alcohol is hard for me. Working at a tavern... can't even imagine the strength you have. So proud of you! |
Its funny how many of us name our monsters (or in my case, I just describe him) They're very sneaky too. :( |
Well done! It can be so bloody hard to fight off that nasty AV but it is possible and you did it so good on you :) |
Our AVs are consummate liars. Never, ever believe a word they say; they tell us what we want to hear while caring NOTHING AT ALL for our wellbeing. |
Way to go. I laugh at mine, he comes up with crazy ideas, no more wine with brunch. Haven't done that in years. No drinking while camping, well I never really drink camping because I do major bicycle rides of 30km or more and when I don't do that, I am camping, sometimes alone with the kids on bear and rattlesnake country. Sly and cunning, a little ridiculous too. |
Glad to see you bringing the fight up Corriec :) D |
Sounds like a cross between Gollum and a Jabberwock. |
My A/V is the Dementor. I used to bargain with it, fight and plead with it. Now I just say I don't drink and move along. The fighting with it encouraged it to keep rattling in my ear, that parasite. |
