People expect you to be perfect and not drink?

One thing I have learned over the years is that addiction is related to self sabatoge, both of which I am very good at.
Hang in there, the voices get quieter when they realise you aren't listening...

Do you want to stop drinking?
Abstinence does in no way imply perfection. It is simply not drinking and/or using.
Sobriety is work and a journey that accompanies abstinence, no matter what path you take. It also has no connection with perfectionism.
I think that trying to be perfect contributes to addiction, it's not a "cure."
