Nearly 2 weeks
Nearly 2 weeks
Everyday I'm getting up feeling so much better and brighter. I'm waking up so much earlier and ready to get up instead of dragging myself about. Yesterday felt like a turning point in realising I won't feel bad forever and it's a great feeling. I've done some amount of moaning and feeling very selfish about making it all about me and alcohol at home.
I know it's not going to be great all the time but if I manage to fight past it better days will come. Looking forward to an aa meeting tomorrow, hoping to be able to start sharing. Once iv got a little less anxious about sharing I'm going to try other meetings.
Thanks all who helped me and told me to think about today only, not tomorrow or the next day. It's helped me focus and stop feeling overwhelmed.
Off to tidy my garden, Hope everyone has a good day ☺

Well done, lpg.
Two weeks is great progress.
Sobriety does get easier and better and better.
I don't attend AA but I imagine that, even if you feel too anxious to share at first, just being present and listening could be helpful.

That's the key. Find something you enjoy doing and immerse yourself in it. Get your mind off this crappy disease. That old drinking life(If you can call it life) is over. Time to move forward.
Glad your doing great and congrats on week 2. Keep going and don't drink.

Hey Wayne.
Abit up and down my mind still feeling a little warped and convincing myself I don't have a problem, posted on a thread I started about meeting queries then after the meeting I was filled with doubts about whether I need aa and if I belong there. Posting here is helping and grateful to people here to help.
Thanks for asking

Absolutely. Just hang in there and go one day at a time. Just don't drink. You don't need alcohol to live or enjoy your life. It's going to get easier. You just stay with us, you'll see!
Glad your ok. Keep it up!
