College girl who is now one month sober!
Hello, I am recently one month sober, over the summer I tried to moderate my drinking and it worked for awhile until I realized I can't moderate my drinking. I used to think I didn't have a problem because I would only drink on weekends, I didn't make it an everyday habit. But I realized I would get absolutely hammered whenever I did drink, because I couldn't stop once I started. I went back to college continued to party and I hit my rock bottom with being hospitalized from consuming too much alcohol. I decided to get some help with my drinking problem and I am now one month sober! This has been the longest month I've been sober since 2015. It is a constant struggle to not drink in college but I will not drink today.

I wish I had the foresight you do when I was your age. That is exactly how my drinking career started. It took me 30 years longer to learn the lesson you have already learned. Trust your instincts on this one.

Congrats, glad things are going well for you. One month is usually a huge relief for a lot of people. While it may still be a struggle, I know when I went one month without alcohol after 6-7 month straight of drinking, physically and mentally I felt somewhat better. Keep up the good work, and stick around this is a great place to get support.
Congrats Dani. It is difficult staying sober in a college environment for sure, but you are proof that it's absolutely possible. Don't forget SR is here 24/7 if you need some extra support and keep up the good work!
I am proud of you and well done for quitting - especially in college when it's enmeshed with the culture! Wow!
I wish I quit in college - the mass amount of loss, pain, and shame I would have spared myself.

Congrats Dani! I’ll bet you’re beginning to find it’s easier to do well in your classes, easier to get to classes, and working on having an active lifestyle instead of a partying one always brings rewards.
Now the people you meet will align with the person you are now, as you make lifelong friends, and that will cement your sobriety moving forward.

Congratulations! I had close to 2 years in recovery when I started college. Found lots of others and lots of support on and off campus. Not drinking didn’t keep me from doing anything but not drink alcohol.
