That's great and healthy, too. Good for you. Exercise can burn off a lot of stress. Plus, the health benefit.

It went well, I notice all my gym days are good days, they give me a good 5-6 hour period of happiness afterward, which you all know is a priceless commodity in sobriety.

Exercise is so effective that some therapists actually prescribe it for depression. Also it’s been researched and found to be one of the single most valuable tools in sobriety....it’s been shown to help people recover.

Having a bad day? Get on that bike, take that walk, go lift weights...

That's awesome Sassy! And it's the same for me - exercise will give me happy endorphins for the rest of the day. That, and just knowing that I did something GOOD for myself, rather than something destructive.

I agree! I really do believe it helps my mood daily. Maybe it's just that small sense of accomplishment of doing something. And it definitely helps me sleep.

You've been a real inspiration to me Sass!

Fantastic Sassy! Hope you like the new gym!

Exercise is good for depression...but try telling someone in the midst of a dense depression that they need to get off their ass and do something physical!

I was a person who if I had the urge to exercise, I'd lie down until it passed. Now I'm an exercise and keto diet junkie. And I feel fantastic. If I really don't feel like going, I remember how I feel afterwards. Once I get going, I love it. Plus eye candy is an added bonus.

HUGE part of my recovery. Plus I feel so much better and look 10 years younger.

Now to get rid of that fat around my middle and the visceral abdominal fat...

No YOU are my inspiration! I want to do with my first year what you’ve done with yours.

I switched over to crossfit, a bit more intense than what I was doing but that’s a good thing right now, because I’m not a physical mess from fitting in alcohol binges around the gym, and I no longer have hangovers. Feeling like I can handle the challenge, now to avoid getting injured...

Also I need that keto motivation. Intermittent fasting right now to keep weight off but after thanksgiving might give it another shot.
