Fear

As I read the posts tonight I read one common elemetal, fear. I think we as alcoholics fear change. We fear acceptance. We fear humility. We fear others and their actions and opinions over us. We fear sobriety and it's consequences and obligations.
Fear destroys us folks if we let it.
If your new to sobriety don't let fear in. That's the disease. It's nothing but smokescreens and mirrors. It's a farce. It keeps you down and out. Perhaps for good.
Based on my personal experience and mine only, it took me about 9 months of sobriety to finely realised that alcoholism died along with my fear of sobriety. The direct correlation between the two is uncanny.
Not sure if this helps anyone, just an observation on my part. Don't fear sobriety folks. Embrace it. Protect it. Nurture it. Above all, enjoy it. It is the one thing that you have complete control of. And that's special in my book.
