Six weeks and feeling fine

Life gets me down here and there and I feel tired or bored or sick of everything, or lonely or whatever, but I STAY SOBER and then I wake up on a day like today and just feel grateful.

Foot is better so two heavy workouts this weekend, food intake balancing out after the crazy Halloween sugar binges, still able to wear size ten off the rack so my weight is fine, curvy as always but the huge weight gain I feared isnít happening, and itís all good. These were my top sobriety fears so itís good to get to six weeks and see that Iím not diving into food addiction and I have not gained a bunch of weight.

And oh, feeling solidly sober, I know the addiction has challenges for me ahead but I can still feel this way when I feel it, that immense sense of gratefulness and relief.

Thanks for listening to all my random writing, everyone. Itís great here on SR.

Congrats on 6 weeks, that's a heck of an accomplishment. Good to hear that you are seeing some other benefits as well - they will keep adding up over time.

It will be 6 weeks this Friday for me. Life has it's ups and downs like you said, but, drinking is not in the picture. I have been setting goals and one of them is to get fit by Spring. I am experiencing alittle anxiety here and there because I seem to want to make up for all the wasted time I spent drinking. I still haven't got it all figured out just yet. One thing is for sure I will be sober today!

Yay Sassy! You helped me when I first came on this site for support a couple of weeks ago. I am so glad you are feeling good.

You go GF!

And good deal on the weight! Exercise, baby! It's working!

PS: Bimini, I just noticed your sig line. I love it. She's one of my favorites.

MindfulMan, in early sobriety I cried and walked at high intensity up and down a big hill that led to the beach.

Got all three in there - it helped.

Thanks.

Youíre right behind me! Congrats to you, too.

Yep it does come down to that: feelings come and go, and we donít drink through any of them.

YES exercise! Especially in sobriety, for so many reasons (including the return of my overenthusiastic appetite...)

Keep going and don't drink. It's that simple. If you don't pour the poison down your throat then it can never harm you. Your only going to heal from now on. Good things are going to happen sassy, I can absolutely assure you of that.
Congrats on 6 weeks, that's AWESOME !!!

It's great to see you are still soaring high, free and doing fine!

I, too, have added more exercise as part of my recovery plan. Somewhere to go after work: the gym!

Way to go!!!!
