What I have in common now with moderate drinkers

The moderate drinker may have 2-3 cocktails

And me, the sober alcoholic has none

While the active alcoholic has 20

But even though she drinks and I do not, the moderate drinker and me have the same amount of personal dignity

And the active alcoholic has none.

I was the active alcoholic, and I gratefully put that identity away.

Nice post. One of the many many things I love about the sober version of me is the personal dignity I now have. Ladylike, dignified behaviour.

Feels so good.

The drunk version of me was a loud, crass, verbally abusive, raging witch!

Haha, awful for all the people around me.

Then awful for me when I remembered!

Shudder!

What I remembered, and what I discovered the next day over text and from friends and family started my sobriety.

It was a lightbulb moment: wait a Minute, why am I repeatedly humiliating myself on purpose? This isn’t the real me.

Great motivation, Staying Sassy.

It wasn't the real me either. So glad I don't behave that way anymore.
